Cookies

We may obtain information about your general internet usage by using cookie files which are stored on the hard drive of your computer.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small pieces of information generated by most websites that you visit. A cookie is a file that is stored in your web browser that allows the website or a third-party tool on a website to function as designed, and to recognise you, make your next visit easier and the website more useful to you. They collect information, and are then sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit. They help us to improve our site and to deliver a better and more personalised service.

Some websites use more cookies than others – you’ll be pleased to know that our site uses the bare minimum!

Session cookies  are stored in memory and are never “written to disk”. This means that they aren’t downloaded and saved to your device (phone, tablet or computer). When the browser closes, the cookie is permanently lost from this point on.

Persistent cookies are cookies that have an expiration date. These cookies stay in your browser, even after you close it and will only be removed if you choose to clear cookies from your browser cache or on the date the cookie expires. Most persistent cookies last for anything ranging from a day to a year, so it’s a good idea to clear your browser cache regularly if you don’t like having cookies hanging around for too long.

Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

Uses made of the information we collect

We use information held about you in the following ways:

Information you give us

We will use this information:

  • To ensure that content from our site is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer.
  • To provide you with information, products or services that you request from us, or which we feel may interest you, where you have consented to be contacted for such purposes.
  • To carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us.
  • To notify you about changes to our service.

If you are an existing customer, we will only contact you by electronic means (e-mail or SMS) with information about services similar to those which were the subject of a previous sale to you.

If you are a new customer, we will contact you by electronic means only if you have consented to this.

Information we collect about you

We will use this information:

  • To administer our site and for internal operations, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistical and survey purposes.
  • To allow you to participate in interactive features of our service, when you choose to do so.
  • As part of our efforts to keep our site safe and secure.
  • To measure or understand the effectiveness of advertising we serve to you, and to deliver relevant advertising to you.
  • To make suggestions and recommendations to you and other users of our site about goods or services that may interest you or them.

Information we receive from other sources:

  • We may combine this information with information you give to us and information we collect about you. We may use this information and the combined information for the purposes set out above (depending on the types of information we receive).

Disclosure of your information

We may disclose your personal information to third parties including:

  • Business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors for the performance of any contract we enter into with them or you;
  • Analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our site;
  • In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.
  • If our business or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by it about its customers will be one of the transferred assets.
  • If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our terms and conditions of supply and other agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our business, our customers, or others.

The length of time we store your data

We store your data for 5 years. How did we decide upon this? Good question. We’ve been in business for 18 years in total, and we still work with customers who came to us in our first year. In general though, most people come back to us every 18 months or so  for help and sometimes disappear for several years only to pop up again needing original artwork or help, at which point  the 5 year storage period begins again. So we feel that 5 years is a good rule of thumb. After this period, assuming that you’ve not been in contact with us, we delete your data.

Your Rights

You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. We will usually inform you (before collecting your data) if we intend to use your data for such purposes or if we intend to disclose your information to any third party for such purposes. You can exercise your right to prevent such processing by checking certain boxes on the forms we use to collect your data.

You can also exercise the right at any time by contacting us at hallo@klimafit.eu.

Our site may, from time to time, contain links to and from the websites of our partner networks, advertisers and affiliates.  If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies.  Please check these policies before you submit any personal data to these websites.

Access to information

The Data Protection Act 2018 gives you the right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with this Act. Any access request may be subject to a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.

Use of site by children

We do not provide services for purchase by children, nor do we market to children. If you are under 18, you may use our website only with consent from a parent or guardian.

Encryption of data sent between us

We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates to verify our identity to your browser and to encrypt any data you give us. Whenever information is transferred between us, you can check that it is done so using SSL by looking for a closed padlock symbol or other trust mark in your browser’s URL bar or toolbar.

Our privacy policy has been compiled so as to comply with the law of every country or legal jurisdiction in which we aim to do business. If you think it fails to satisfy the law of your jurisdiction, we should like to hear from you.

However, ultimately it is your choice as to whether you wish to use our website.
